Dr. Divya Kumari,
Ph.D. (Population Studies, 6 Years of Experience) – RESEARCHER
Dr. Divya has done her Ph.D. from International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, India and earned her MPS degree in population studies from International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS). She has a strong background in collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data sets. She worked for several years as “Project Scientist” at Remote Sensing Application Centre, Lucknow. Prior to joining IIPS, she did post-graduation in geography from BHU, Varanasi and postgraduate diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS from University of Allahabad, Allahabad. During her research, she got rigorous training in hard-core data analysis using statistical software (SPSS, STATA, Mortpak) and also trained in geo-spatial analysis using GIS and remote sensing Software (GIS, Erdas imagine, Elwis, Geoda). She has been offered a small grant fund from Parkes Foundation, UK, to collect data for PhD. She is also awarded Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in population studies and NET in Geography. Divya Kumari has authored three research papers which are published in peer-reviewed demographic and public health journals and presented papers in various international and national conferences in India and abroad. She is associated with professional organizations such as Population Association of America (PAA), International Union for Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP), Asian Population Association (APA), Indian Association for Social Science and Health (IASSH) and Indian Association for the Study of Population (IASP).
